Effective as of: 17/12/25
Last updated: 17/12/25

ASX participants, vendors and users are advised that, following a review of clearing risk appetite, ASX will cease the automatic listing of new expiries for 10 & 11 cent strike single stock options from March 2025. This action addresses concerns about margin coverage for cash market positions arising from option exercises at expiry.

No new expiries will be listed beyond March 2025, and existing strikes will roll off in line with their scheduled expiry dates.

ASX will continue to engage with impacted participants to ensure market readiness and address any operational impacts. Should future system enhancements enable portability of stock collateral to cover cash market positions, ASX will consider relisting these strikes if there is sufficient market demand.

What do I need to do by when?

ETO Users and Participants should review their open positions and prepare for the cessation of new listings from March 2025. Please contact ASX if you require further information or support regarding this change.
