Austraclear Certificate Transitioning from MPKI8 to DigiCert ONE

Austraclear users are advised that the end of issuance of Digicert Managed Public Key Infrastructure Platform 8 (MPKI8) is currently being scheduled for October 1, 2025 and any new certificates which are to be issued will now be using DigiCert ONE.  In order to continue to access Austraclear without interruption, MPKI8 customers must transition certificate issuance to DigiCert ONE following expiration of their MPKI8 certificate.

Users will receive an email notification confirming the expiration of their MPKI8 certificate and advising that a new certificate from the DigiCertOne system will be issued.  Please ensure to enrol the new DigiCert One certificate within the timeframe specified in the email with subject ‘Certificate enrolment confirmation’ from email address no-reply@digicert.com

To access the Austraclear system, all Austraclear users require the following:

  • an Austraclear user ID and password
  • a valid digital certificate specific to each user, and
  • a valid root certificate authority referable to ASX Austraclear

Both certificates operate together to provide permissioned access to the Austraclear system. Each certificate is valid for 24 months.

What do I need to do by when?

Austraclear users should promptly enrol the new DigiCert ONE certificate and contact the Austraclear Service Desk if any issues are experience when enrolling. Please DO Not mark the certificate as ‘exportable’ during the import process. This prevents unauthorised access to the private key, enhancing security by keeping it confined to the original device. If necessary, a second certificate can be issued for BCP purposes.

Please refer to the Austraclear Digital Certificate enrolment Guide for detailed instructions on how to install the new digital certificate and ensure the root certificate authority once enrolled is moved to the trusted root certificate authority folder location.
