ASX will conduct two Business Continuity Plan Tests in the production ASX Trade environment on Saturday 3 May and Saturday 18 October 2025.
In accordance with the recent ASX consultation process, which followed ASIC’s REP 708 report, ASX recognises the benefits for all stakeholders of an expanded BCP schedule and has committed to providing two annual BCP events, at least one of which will include more simulated failure scenarios.
In addition, on 10 March 2023, ASIC introduced new market integrity rules [[1]] aimed at promoting the technological and operational resilience of securities and futures market operators and participants. The additional rules highlight ASIC’s expectations around BCP, specifically that both Market Operators and Participants maintain plans that will effectively enable continued operation or restoration of critical business services during a major event.
ASX will request and expects that all Participants attend the two scheduled BCP events each year. Vendors and AMOs will also be strongly encouraged to participate in all BCP events.
The purpose of this notice is to confirm the date of the events. ASX will release a further notice closer to the dates detailing the schedule and what is expected of participants in preparation for the test and on the day of the test itself.
