ASX would like to advise Information Services customers who currently subscribe to the ReferencePoint Master List service, of a number of revisions to the Global Industry Classification Standard codes currently disseminated in this service. These changes will be effective in the ReferencePoint service from Monday 20th of March 2023 and are the result of changes announced recently by Standard and Poor’s to this classification standard. The changes are across a number of sectors. Customers are directed to S&P for full details of the background and reasons for the changes.
Please refer the updated GICS Code Table attached for full details of these changes. An updated ReferencePoint Master List Specification Manual, containing this updated table, is now also available via the below URL:
https://www.asxonline.com/public/landing-pages/asx-market-information/reference-products.html
We remind ASX customers that currently, ASX is limited to disclosing up to the first two GICS tiers only, of this four tier classification. In a small number of cases, such as for the Real Estate category, ASX disseminates this classification up to the third tier only. This continues to be case with the S&P updates that have been made to the classification. Full GICS codes are available from S&P.
Please direct any queries about this Notice to Information.Services@asx.com.au
