This notice is to provide mFund participants with information on testing, vendor conformance and operational readiness for CHESS Release 10.0.
ASX has consulted with CHESS mFund participants (Settlement Participant, Issuers, Product Issuer Settlement Participants PISPS, Share Registries) and their CHESS System Vendors on the business and technical aspects of CHESS Release 10.0 enhancements.
For information relating to CHESS 10 including timeline and Business and Technical Overview which sets out specifications for CHESS Release 10, please click on the below link.

This is a mandatory release for these mFund Participants.
The CHESS Release Test Environment (RTE) will be updated to accommodate testing of ASX mFund Enhancements - CHESS 10. This will allow for enhancements to be deployed for testing purposes (to RTE) without impacting on existing functionality. The existing test environment (External User Test Environment) will continue to be available for functional testing in line with production.
Only mFund messages will be effected in RTE.
System Vendors
It is expected that Vendors have commenced building the related messages in accordance with the Business and Technical Specifications. Vendors must develop optional fields within mandatory messages. Mandatory and conditional mandatory data changes will require CHESS vendor conformance.
Operational Readiness
Operational Readiness provides assurance that Operations Staff have completed sufficient training and testing prior to the release go-live. This mitigates risk to the Participant, the rest of the market and ASX upon go live. Information on this process will be made available closer to the time.
CHESS Release Test Environment
Participants testing the current version of mFund messages, will need to revert to the External User Test Environment (UAT). If you are unsure which port and CHESS UIC to connect to, please contact ASX Post Trade Operations on 1800 814 051 or CHESSHelp@asx.com.au In the subject line, please use ‘External User Test Environment – connection details’.
To minimise the impact to your testing, please ensure you revert to the External User Test Environment prior to 16 March 2018.
