The Reset MFA feature on the ASX Online portal allows you to self-manage your multi-factor authentication (MFA) settings when your MFA device is faulty or lost, enabling you to register a new MFA device for your account.
A reset of your MFA can only be performed on a previously logged-in or recognised device.
Follow the below steps to reset your MFA device:
Step 1: On the ASX Online login page, enter your email address and password.
Step 2: When prompted to provide MFA verification, click on 'Cancel' if you are using Passkey or Physical Security Key (e.g. YubiKey)
Step 3: Select 'RESET MFA'
Step 4: You will receive an email from ASX containing a one-time password to reset MFA. This password will be valid for 10 minutes.
Step 5: Enter the 6 digit one-time password from the email into the onscreen field, then click 'SUBMIT'. To request a new one-time password, click 'RESEND'.
Step 6: Upon successful MFA device reset, select 'CONTINUE TO SETUP'.
Step 7: You will receive a confirmation email once you have successfully reset your MFA device.
Step 8: If you reset your MFA prior to 30 June 2025, then click 'Set up MFA now' to proceed with the setup of MFA immediately.
Step 9: Select one of the following MFA method, then click on 'NEXT'.
Step 10: Once you select an option, follow the steps below to complete the setup of your chosen MFA type.
