Application documentation for ASX Specialist Settlement

Specialist settlement participants are admitted to the ASX Settlement facility to act solely as a participant bidder for a takeover bid.

Entities applying to become a specialist settlement participant are encouraged to read ASX Settlement Guidance Note 14 – Specialist Settlement Participants (linked below) to understand ASX’s admission requirements.

A bidder intending to make a takeover bid for securities held on a CHESS subregister must apply to become a specialist settlement participant not less than 5 business days before the start of the offer period for the bid.

The following documents form the ASX specialist settlement participant application kit and should be referenced for all information relating to the specialist settlement participant application process.

The documentation on this page does not include the admission requirements for entities wishing to be admitted as a general settlement participant, account participant or product issuer settlement participant. The completed parts and their related annexures should be provided in soft-copy via the application form upload facility under “Applications” on ASX Online using the log-on credentials provided by ASX Equity Operations. The upload facility requires the application form and each relevant annexure to be uploaded as separate files. An existing ASX Settlement participant may submit a Participant Bidder Notice to notify ASX that it is acting as a bidder for a new takeover bid. Completed notices must be sent to ASX Equity Operations via email at CHESShelp@asx.com.au
