ASX has formally lodged the amendments to the ASX Operating Rules and Procedures and ASX Settlement Operating Rules and Procedures (the Amendments) to facilitate the closure of the ASX Managed Fund Settlement Service (mFund).
The Amendments follow consultation with the market. Further details of the Amendments can found in the ASX response paper to the Consultation of the closure of the ASX Managed Fund Settlement Service (mFund).
At a high level, the Amendments include the removal of rules and terms specific to mFund, and introduce transitional arrangements that will facilitate a fair and orderly wind down. The Amendments also include the closure of the AQUA Quote Display Board.
The first stage of the Amendments in Section 18A of the ASX Settlement Operating Rules will come into effect on Friday, 22 May 2026. Importantly, these Amendments are to facilitate the cessation and of new applications and redemptions in mFund (i.e. the last day for requests for issue or redemption of AQUA Products in mFund).
The second stage of Amendments will come into effect on Monday, 1 June 2026 to facilitate the overall closure of mFund. The last operational day of mFund will be Friday, 29 May 2026.
The final stage of Amendments is expected to come into effect on Tuesday, 1 September 2026 to facilitate completion of Product Issuer Settlement Participant resignations.
The Amendments are subject to regulatory approval.
