ASX will conduct an Industry Wide Test (IWT) in the ASX Trade production environment on Saturday 4 May 2024. The IWT will test the CANCEL_ONLY session state together with the new Order Download Service (ODS) and Trade Download Service (TDS) which will be part of Service Release 14.
The scenario will facilitate testing of a simulated market outage event. It will enable Participants an opportunity for business continuity plan (BCP) testing to develop test cases to practice recovery strategies or switching to alternative arrangements for critical dependencies.
This IWT will act as the first of two BCP tests in 2024. The second BCP is currently scheduled for 19 October 2024. ASX recognises the benefits for all stakeholders of an expanded BCP schedule and has committed to providing two annual BCP events, in order to incorporate more simulated failure scenarios. This is consistent with the recent ASX consultation process, which followed ASIC’s REP 708 report.
ASX requests and expects participation from all Participants in the two scheduled BCP events each year (04 May 2024 and 19 October 2024). Vendors and AMOs will also be strongly encouraged to participate in all BCP events.
The purpose of this notice is to confirm the date of the event. ASX will release a further notice closer to the date detailing the schedule and what is expected of Participants in preparation for the test and on the day.
To ensure your readiness for the IWT/BCP on 4 May 2024, and adequate time to test in the Customer Development Environment (CDE+) prior to the event, we strongly encourage you to subscribe to the ODS/TDS to commence testing.
Customers wishing to test ODS/TDS can do so now in the CDE+, more information including test schedules were published in Notice 1040.23.10.
Full details on ODS/TDS can be found in the Order and Trade Download Service Guide.
