Amendment to the ASX Settlement Operating Rules Procedures – Schedule 1 (FOR Financial Products)

ASX Settlement advises that a change has been made to the ASX Settlement Operating Rules Procedures, to become effective on and from 15 June 2021.

Background

Under Chapter 5.18 of the ASX Settlement Operating Rules, issuers may request that ASX place a “FOR” tag on their securities where they are subject to any foreign holder restrictions. If a security is subject to a FOR tag, Participants may identify whether a holder is permitted to hold those securities based on their residency indicator.

Currently, the list of financial products subject to a FOR tag (and as such are considered “FOR Financial Products”) is set out in Schedule 1 to the ASX Settlement Operating Rule Procedures (“the Procedures”).

The amendments to the Procedures will remove the body of the list from Schedule 1 of the Procedures, and instead direct users to the ASX Online website (https://www.asxonline.com/), where the list of financial products will be published by ASX Settlement (and updated as required from time to time).

What do I need to do and by when?

From 15 June 2021, ASX Settlement Participants will be able to view the list of financial products subject to a FOR tag on ASX Online (the list will be directly accessible from the ASX Online home page (https://www.asxonline.com/)). The list will no longer be contained in Schedule 1 of the Procedures from that date.

Effective Date

These changes will become effective on and from 15 June 2021.
