As per Notice 1143.23.11, ASX identified a technical issue that could impact the execution of User Defined Combination (UDC) orders on the ASX 24 market. As a precaution, the creation of UDC instruments was temporarily disabled. In response to concerns from clients within the electricity market around the inability to execute combination trades where Exchange Defined Combinations (EDC) do not exist, ASX temporarily lowered the minimum volume threshold to 1 lot on Block Trades across Australian and New Zealand Electricity spreads as per Notice 1156.23.11.
Further to Notice 0098.24.02 regarding the re-enabling of UDCs and Interspreads, the temporary exemption to lower the minimum threshold will cease end of day Friday 16th February. From Monday 19th February at the commencement of the day session, Block Trade Minimum Thresholds will return to normal for Australian and New Zealand Electricity Futures and Options, as per Procedure 4820.
ASX 24 trading participants and end users are advised to review the Minimum Thresholds for Australian and New Zealand Electricity Futures and Options outlined in Procedure 4820.
